To further study and implement the spirit of the 20th CPC Central Committee's Third Plenary Session and strengthen the education of the consciousness of the Chinese national community, on November 30, the Party Committee of the SFL organized a practical education activity. The event took place at the Changleyuan Resistance War against Japan Industrial Site, the Bronze Ware Museum, and the Zhang Zai Temple in Baoji City. The event was attended by Zhao Zhihou, the Secretary of the school’s Party Committee, Liu Jianbo, the Deputy Party Secretary of the university, Yang Ying, Associate Dean of Administration, representatives of Party members from faculty and students, members of the RED Memory Guide Team, as well as development candidates for the second half of 2024, totaling more than 40 participants.

In the morning of November 30, faculty, student representatives, and members of democratic parties of the university attended the unveiling ceremony of the “Education Practice Base for Strengthening the Consciousness of the Chinese National Community” at the Changleyuan Resistance War against Japan Industrial Site. At the ceremony, Dong Guoqiang, a Standing Member of the Party Committee and Head of the United Front Work Department of Northwest University, and the site’s director jointly unveiled the “Northwest University Education Practice Base for Strengthening the Consciousness of the Chinese National Community.” Following the ceremony, Bi Haoyu, Deputy Team Leader of the RED Memory Guide Team, delivered a speech as a student representative. Teacher Yuan Xiling then gave a vivid mini-lecture on “Baoji and the Gong Ho Industrial Cooperative Movement,” covering four aspects: an introduction to the Gong Ho movement, Gong Ho City: Baoji, Baoji and the World, and the cultural heritage of Gong Ho. Afterward, teachers and students, led by the site guides, visited the Changleyuan Anti-Japanese War Industrial Site. The site is a protected and developed historical site featuring a group of museums dedicated to Baoji's industrial history. The purpose of the site is to commemorate the glorious history, pass on outstanding culture, and showcase the remarkable development of Baoji's industrial history. The remaining buildings from the Resistance War period, such as the kiln workshops, Fuxin Shenxin Building, Lenong Villa, and thin-shell workshops built after the liberation, are some of the most well-preserved Anti-Japanese War industrial relics in the country and have great significance both domestically and internationally.

In the afternoon, the group visited the Baoji Bronze Ware Museum. Known as the “Hometown of Bronze Ware,” Baoji has numerous national treasures of bronze ware, serving as a source of power to inquire into history and unite consensus. Since the Han Dynasty, Baoji has continually unearthed large quantities of bronze artifacts, making it the leading region in China in terms of quantity, quality, and the importance of the inscriptions. The museum consists of four exhibition halls: Hometown of Bronze Ware, The Foundations of China, Land of Zhou Rites, and The Road to Qin Zhao. These bronze wares are not only important historical evidence for studying ancient societies, but also vital carriers for preserving and promoting China's excellent traditional culture.

The final stop of this practical education trip was the Zhang Zai Temple in Hengqu Town, Meixian County, Baoji City. This site is dedicated to Zhang Zai, a famous philosopher, educator, and leader of the School of Guanzhong during the Northern Song Dynasty. It was here that he taught his students. Through visiting four exhibition halls on Zhang Zai’s life, his philosophical ideas, the cultural heritage of the School of Guangzhong, and the Zhang family’s family traditions, teachers and students gained a deeper understanding of his famous dictum: “Establish the heart for heaven and earth, establish the fate for the people, continue the unbroken learning of the sages, and open peace for the world.” This experience further deepened their appreciation of the unique charm of traditional Chinese culture.
